Projects

Cristián

Cristián is a first-person documentary following my year-long journey as a trans person navigating the complexities of social, legal, and medical transition. Through this personal lens, the film explores identity and the ongoing process of becoming, centering both the challenges of transition and moments of trans joy.

Boricua No Te Quites

Boricua No Te Quites celebrates Puerto Rican culture through the final two historic Chinchorreos in the North Carolina community, which drew over 15,000 people from near and far. This vibrant documentary honors the pride, unity, and resilience of the diaspora.

Puerto Rican Voices:
Living Under Austerity

Puerto Rican Voices is a NY Emmy winning investigative TV documentary series about colonialism in Puerto Rico. This five-part series explores the energy crisis, pollution, displacement, and economic precarity, resulting from a decade-long recession, and the aftershocks of hurricane María.

About Me

Hey, I’m Cristián, a storyteller and a documentary filmmaker with a deep love for truth, identity, and human connection. I film and edit stories that center around resilience, amplify marginalized voices, and challenge norms. Through my lens, I explore the quiet power of personal stories, from everyday moments to historical milestones. I believe media in any form has the power to heal, to educate, and to erase harmful narratives. Allowing people space to tell their own stories that are grounded in truth is the most beautiful thing in the world to me.

My most recent completed projects include Boricua No Te Quites, a feature documentary about Puerto Rican identity and perseverance, and Puerto Rican Voices, a New York Emmy-winning investigative series where I contributed to post-production efforts including audio mixing, caption finalization, and credit creation. Currently, I am working on documenting my transition as a trans person in America over the course of one year. It captures my struggles, my joys and my complexities as I fully step into my entire being. When I’m not behind the camera, I’m studying Spanish, spending time with my band mates, or discovering a new story.

Let’s step into the frame together.
